Here, in the south of The Netherlands, people really enjoy life, food and drink more than anywhere else .This is also due to the fact that Limburg, and especially central Limburg, has a rich history of typical regional products such as the asparagus which is often referred to as “the white gold”.
To sound the praises of the asparagus here would be too much as this special vegetable has already been praised numerously. Apart from the famous asparagus central Limburg boasts many regional products which you will find on the menus of many restaurants in this region.

Apart from our regional apples, strawberries, mustards “vlaai“and syrups, Limburg is also well-known for its wines. Although viniculture has been part of Limburg’s past for ages, there has been a revival of this tradition in the last decades.New vineyards appear throughout the province, mostly on a small and traditional scale.
